For the 2024-2025 plan year, we are making benefit changes that benefit YOU!

We are making slight changes to our benefits for the 2024-2025 plan year. This is a PASSIVE enrollment. All of your benefit elections will carry over from the previous year. However, the medical Plan 4 will be terminating this year. Employees currently enrolled in Plan 4 will automatically be enrolled in Plan 1. Also, if you have an HSA or FSA you must actively reelect coverage to continue your benefits. We encourage you to review your current benefit plans and decide which plans are best for you and your family.

  • Medical and Prescription Drug
    • We are excited to announce there will be no premium increase to Plan 1. Plan 2 and 3 will only be increasing by 3%. The Kaiser Permanente plan will see larger increases dependent on which tier you elect.
    • MDLive will be terminating effective 3/31/2024. First Stop Health is now available for all virtual health needs.
    • Per ACA guidelines, the Plan 1 individual deductible will be increasing from $3,000 to $3,200. The Plan 1 family deductible will be increasing to $6,400.
    • Plan 4 will be terminating this year. Employees currently enrolled in Plan 4 will be automatically enrolled in Plan 1 unless you wish to elect a different plan.
    • There are no changes to your current prescription drug plans.
  • Dental
    • There are no changes to your dental plan design for this plan year.
    • There will be an 11% increase to your weekly and bi-weekly costs for those enrolled in the dental plan.
  • Vision
    • There are no changes to your vision plan design or cost for this plan year.
  • Spending Accounts
    • We will now partner with Inspira Financial for the Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
    • All FSA claims need to be submitted through Inspira Financial with the exception of medical plan copays (these will be substantiated automatically). Claims incurred prior to 3/31/2024 should be submitted through HSA Bank prior to June 29, 2024. Any claims after 4/1/2024 should be submitted through Inspira Financial at www.inspirafinancial.com.
    • You will have the option of transferring your current HSA through HSA Bank to Inspira Financial. Please be on the lookout for further communications outlining what is needed from you.
  • Life and Disability
    • There are no changes to the current cost structures for any of our Life or Disability plans

  • Voluntary Benefits
    • Regardless of waiving coverage in the past, you may enroll or increase your Critical Illness election up to $30,000 without submitting EOI.
    • You may also enroll in Hospital Indemnity and Accident without submitting EOI.

Additional Information

For employees enrolled in the BCBSIL medical plan, you can earn a 2025 medical premium credit of up to $600 for individual and $1,200 for employee and spouse (if both members participate) when you complete your annual physical. Beginning January 1, 2024, you can start working on earning the 2025 incentives.

There will be a $100 monthly spousal surcharge for working spouses who have other sponsored medical coverage.

If your spouse is enrolled as a dependent under your Brock Health Plan but has access to medical coverage through their employer, you will have to pay a $100 surcharge each month in addition to your medical plan premiums. Take the time to review both your spouse’s employer-sponsored medical coverage and your Brock medical coverage options to make the choice that’s right for you and your family.

Historical data shows that the cost/utilization of a covered spouse is more than double that of employees and covered children. This is a significant driver in the increasing costs of the Brock Health Plan. Therefore, we want to encourage our working spouses to enroll in their employers’ plan, if available.

There will be a $100 monthly surcharge for tobacco utilization.

If you or your spouse use tobacco products and do not enroll in and complete a tobacco cessation program through the American Lung Association, you must pay a $100 surcharge each month per user in addition to your medical plan premiums. Tobacco products include cigarettes, cigars, snuff, chewing tobacco, and any other nicotine delivery systems such as ecigarettes or vaping.

Tobacco use and secondhand smoke cause illnesses such as lung cancer, coronary heart disease, stroke, and respiratory problems. One out of every three cancer deaths is caused by smoking. As a result, this is a major driver in the increase in Brock health care costs. We want to encourage all employees using tobacco to enter a tobacco cessation program. If you’re interested in participating in the tobacco cessation program, please contact Brock benefits by calling 409.951.4394
